Summer Communication
Communicating with Camp
Reaching the Camp Office
To reach the Camp Judaea Office please call 404-634-7883 or email [email protected]. The Camp Judaea office is open Sunday-Thursday between 8:00am and 8:00pm. On Friday, the office closes for Shabbat at 4 pm and will remain closed until 8 am on Sunday. While we do have email access at camp, it is best to call us if you’d like a timely response.
If there is a family emergency, please inform our Executive Director, Lori Zeligman and/or Francine Safdeye, Camper Experience Director. Decisions regarding how to handle a specific situation will be made in partnership with Lori, Francine and the parent/guardian.
For emergency calls only: After 8:00PM, please call the camp emergency line at 828-712-8109.
Text Message Alerts
Camp Judaea uses a texting system to communicate with parents or guardians throughout the summer. The texts might include important updates, program updates, quick news, or photos. Each text will state that it is coming from Camp Judaea.
To receive texts, you must provide an opt-in via the “Text Message Opt-In” form in your Camp-in-Touch account.
Communicating with your Camper
We encourage campers to write home at least once a week. Letters sent through the USPS may take some time to arrive home. If this happens, don’t worry, as “no news is usually good news.” If you receive a homesick letter from your child or are concerned for any reason, please call the Camp Office and someone will get back to you promptly. As a reminder, camp has a no-packages policy.
**Please make sure you pre-address and stamp the envelopes to ensure that your camper's letter gets to the correct recipient.
ADDRESS ALL MAIL TO YOUR CAMPER AS FOLLOWS:
Camper Name - Bunk Name Camp Judaea 48 Camp Judaea Lane Hendersonville, NC 28792
You will receive your camper's bunk on Opening Day
eLetters & Camp Stamps
Parents can send 1-way e-letters to their campers through the CampInTouch Parent Portal or the Campanion App for a minimal fee. Printed e-letters will be delivered with your camper’s mail. When sending an e-letter, if desired, select the “handwritten e-letter reply” box. This will allow your camper to create a hand-written response that will be scanned to your CampInTouch account.
- Campers should ONLY use blue or black ink pens to ensure the E-Letter PDF is legible.
- Parent or guardian will receive an email notification as each E-Letter is returned. They will not be charged a CampStamp until the E-Letter is opened
- Once viewed, an E-Letter may be opened, saved, or forwarded by email an unlimited number of times at no additional cost.
If you need assistance with your E-Letter account please contact CampMinder at 303-444-2267.
Change of Address & Summer Vacations
If you will be away from home when your camper is at camp, or if your summer address is different from your address during the rest of the year, please contact the camp office.
Summer Photos
All photos will be posted to CampInTouch and our Campanion App.
We are excited to offer "Face Finder" Campanion's tool for helping deliver campers’ photos directly to their loved ones. Using facial recognition technology, the app will search for photos of campers automatically and tag them for parents to view in the app. This will make it very easy for you to view photos of your camper/s.
While we cannot promise that photos will be uploaded daily, they will be uploaded regularly. These photographs will be taken by camp staff. While we cannot capture every event or experience at camp on camera, we will do our best to be as inclusive of the camp experience as possible.
