Camp Traditions & Culture
Take some time with your campers to learn the basics of the Camp Judaea culture. Below, we have included videos to some of our most popular rikkudim (Israeli dances), a link to our Shiron Shira Shketa (songbook for quiet singing before Havdalah on Saturday nights), Eda (age group) cheers and more.ย
Rikkud (Israeli Dancing)
At Camp Judaea, we LOVE Rikkud (Israeli Dancing)! At the end of Havdalah every week, we break out into a huge Rikkud Party on the basketball court! Campers will learn different dances throughout the summer from our Rikkud specialists and have so much fun dancing!

Shira (Singing)
Here at CJ, we love to sing! Shira is the heart of our CJ Ruach (spirit). With the help of our talented Shira specialists, campers sing on Saturday night during Shira Shekta (quiet singing), after meals, and for special occasions.
Cheers
We've got ruach (spirit) yes we do, we've got ruach how about you! Every day at CJ you'll hear lots of cheers all over the place. We have eda cheers, campwide cheers, and cheers for special programs like Bikkurim (CJ's version of Maccabiah).
BOs (Bogrim and Offarim) pairings are a long-standing and beloved tradition at CJ! Campers from our Bogrim and Offarim groups are partnered up with each other to give them an older "sibling" in camp. BOs have a special cheer - learn it here!
Shigaon is a CJ classic song where campers learn how to say different words in Hebrew! Learn it with Lori and her family.
T'filot (Prayers)
Every morning, our CJ community comes together for T'filot (prayer).
You donโt have to know all the prayers to feel comfortable at camp. Itโs all about learning and connecting โ and best of all, itโs fun!
